"Earth is a laboratory wherein Nature has laid before us the results of countless experiments.  She speaks to us; now let us listen.”
- Professor E.O. Wilson from his book “The Creation”

During 2006, more than 70 wildlife conservation projects in 34 countries benefited from $690,000 in program support awarded by the Zoo and Partners In Conservation (PIC). Projects conducting research and engaging in grassroots conservation on behalf of Africa’s endangered bonobos, chimpanzees and gorillas, West Indian manatees, Siberian tigers, polar bears, and Ohio’s endangered freshwater mussels, are among the Zoo’s conservation partners.
